Madonnas photoshop skills in covering age insecurities and questions regarding real appearance of the star in her lates instagram post.

On the 28th of November, the famous Madonna has posted some of her pictures, of course erotic -type (no surprise), a lot of famous and casual users of Instagram have commented on that post. Comments were mostly negative and pointed out the ridiculous amount of photoshop that Madonna uses when editing her photos. Despite that, it is not a new thing to her persona.
This event demonstrated that users of social media are aware of celebrities
faking their looks, but on the other hand the amount of photoshop used by the celebrity is so enormous that when comparing pictures online and paparazzi pictures it seems like two completely different people, therefore the fact of a celebrity trying to fool the audience is obvious. But what happens when the picture editing is not that obvious, or the amount of editing remains the same as in Madonna’s case, but there is nothing to compare with (for instance the photos of the person IRL)?
Another point that I wanted to direct your attention to is the topic of insecurities that were rised in the comments under the Maddonas insta post. It is astonishing how even celebrities are insecure about their age, appearance, figure, etc. Then how we, casual viewers, can be confident about our appearances when the celebrities with the usage of editing are promoting the idea that even they are not ‘enough’, therefore for us to be ‘enough’ is more than unreachable?

Totally agreed! Earlier this week, I came across Madonna's instagram and must've googled her age since I was shocked by how young she looks in all her photos. I feel like it's becoming harder and harder to see all the photoshopped features as we see edited photos everywhere and are getting more used to them. And I don't remember when was the last time I saw an actual paparazzi photo of Madonna, so thank you for reminding me what is real! She really looks like a totally different person on her socials.
This is one of the hardest and most relevant topics for discussion. Madonna is amazing, same is Photoshop, but it is better for them not to be friends 🤣 The thing is that starting to retouch their selfies, people tend to add more and more of it, and finally lose the sense of what looks natural and what does not. In this case, it's absurd. I liked your point about feeling confident with our appearances becoming even less realistic due to such actions by celebrities.
